Jesus Says: “Give Me Everything”

Jesus wants us to give him everything!

God wants to have all of our hearts, not just a piece of it. He wants us to be totally and completely sold out to Him each day.

Living our lives for Jesus is the most satisfying and rewarding life that we could ever experience, and it opens the doors for peace in the midst of the storms of life and joy even in our sadness!

No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.

- Matthew 6: 24

While this verse speaks of wealth, it applies to other areas too because anything we put above God in our lives becomes an idol.

In order to be sold out for Jesus, we can’t put anything above him, not our things, our time, our family, or our money.

The highest offering we can ever give God is our hearts and a life of obedience to Him.

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”

John 14: 15

Jesus said, “If we love Him then we will keep His commandments.”

One of the commandments that Jesus gave us is to love one another as He loved us.

“A new commandment I give unto you, that you love one another even as I have loved you, that you love one another. By this shall all men know that you are my disciples if you have love one to another.”

John 13: 34-35

God showed us His perfect love in that while we were yet sinners, Jesus died for us.

The greatest sign that we are followers of Jesus is the love we have for others!

One great story from the Bible about giving all to the Lord is the story of the Widow’s Mites.

Rescued From the Brink of Death❤️

August 28, 2023, two police officers from the La Porte Police Department in Indiana, USA responded to a call of a suicidal woman on a local highway overpass 30 feet above a busy railway.

As officers Ryan Helmecy and Taylor Atkinson reached the chaotic scene, they noticed the distressed woman climbing over the protective fence of the overpass.

A bystander was already there trying to calm the woman, but to no avail.

The officers ran as fast as they could to reach the woman just as she climbed to the top of the fence and over the other side, where nothing separated her from certain death.

Officer Helmecy scaled the fence and reached out his hand, grabbing the woman just as she jumped over the side.

Soon Officer Atkinson too jumped over and grabbed her other arm.

They remained with the troubled woman until help arrived.

Just as the two officers reached out to the woman in distress on that overpass, Jesus stands reaching out for us in our deepest darkest moments!

Even when it seems like all hope is lost and there is no way out, Jesus is reaching out to us. He will never leave us nor forsake us!

“For Everyone who calls on the Name of the Lord[Jesus] will be saved”

Romans 10: 13

The Bible tells us that everyone who calls on Jesus shall be saved.

When you are in your darkest moments, call on His Name.

“…WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.”

Romans 10: 11

Oh Lord, You are good and greatly to be praised, You are worthy of all I have to offer, Lord, I may not have much, but all I have is Yours, Jesus.

Thank You, Heavenly Father, for those two officers who saved the troubled woman. Lord, please let your Holy Spirit visit the woman and let her know that she is valuable and loved beyond measure!

Lord, when I am in my darkest moments, please give me the strength to call on you with all of my heart, and save me, oh Lord!
